Further Insight helped the Royal Adelaide Show measure the success of the 2024 Adelaide Show event, and plan for future events.
The problem
The Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia’s longest running and most-loved community and family event. The event draws thousands of visitors from across South Australia and generates more than $200 million in economic value each year. The event is organised by not-for-profit Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA (RA&HS). The organisation needed to understand how visitors evaluated the event, to help them plan for future events.
The solution
Further Insight designed and executed a comprehensive community survey that was sent out to visitors of the 2024 Show. The survey design included measurement of awareness of marketing and promotion activity, evaluation of ticketing purchasing process, visitation drivers, satisfaction with various event aspects, and questions about future events. Detailed data analysis was undertaking, with a full report and presentation of results provided.
The result
The survey received significantly higher response rates than past years, and nearly double the amount of the 2023 survey. The report provided detailed and in-depth insight into the views of Show Visitors and non-visitors. The report highlighted well-performing areas and provided recommendations for improvements for future events.
